Welcome to WAVI

Since 1978, Working Against Violence, Inc. (WAVI) has been committed to providing survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking, vital services such as safe emergency shelter, crisis management, food, transportation, and supportive services.  WAVI is an equal opportunity provider, and all services are provided at no cost.

Due to limited storage space and client needs, we may not be able to accept certain items. We are not accepting furniture, used toys and stuffed animals, travel-size items, used underwear/panties, used personal care/hygiene items, and business attire/formal wear. There are many warning signs of abuse, with some being more obvious than others. If you feel that you are experiencing abuse, it is likely that you are. Learn more about domestic violence and sexual assault in order to better assess your situation and get the help you need and deserve.

Our ADA compliant, drug and alcohol free shelter is open 24/7 to provide a safe haven for women and children survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We also provide assistance with:

  • Safety planning
  • Domestic violence education
  • In-shelter children’s program
  • Community referrals

Help WAVI in ensuring there are resources available for those affected by sexual assault and domestic violence by donating or volunteering today. We also have a weekly needs list for items needed at the shelter, which is updated regularly.

Reminder about donations: Due to security and safety, please do not leave donations without speaking to someone. We ask that you use the back entrance to drop off donations. We also have limited space for storage, so if you have a large donation, please call ahead.
