Welcome to WAVI
Since 1978, Working Against Violence, Inc. (WAVI) has been committed to providing survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault temporary emergency shelter, food, and supportive services.
By offering the Black Hills a safe shelter for women, children and men, we ensure a brighter future for all of those in our community.
There are many warning signs of abuse, with some being more obvious than others. If you feel that you are experiencing abuse, it is likely that you are. Learn more about domestic violence and sexual assault in order to better assess your situation and get the help you need and deserve.
Our ADA compliant, drug and alcohol free shelter is open 24/7 to provide a safe haven for women and children survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We also provide assistance with:
- Safety planning
- Domestic violence education
- In-shelter children’s program
- Community referrals
WAVI regularly hosts events that educate the community about domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as provides resources for survivors. Click the button below to learn more about upcoming gatherings.
Help WAVI in ensuring there are resources available for those affected by sexual assault and domestic violence by donating or volunteering today. We also have a weekly needs list for items needed at the shelter, which is updated regularly.
