Emergency Safe Shelter: You are welcome to come at any time to be assessed. Our shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you do not need to call before arriving.

Comprehensive services are provided at WAVI through two programs, Project THRIVE and Project Harvest Hope.
Project THRIVE (Transformative Help, Resilience, and Inclusivity for Violence Elimination) is Working Against Violence, Inc.’s comprehensive, trauma-informed program that supports survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and intimate partner stalking.
Project Harvest Hope, Harvesting Hope, Nourishing Lives provides three nutritious meals and snacks for both adults and children who are receiving support services at WAVI's 24-hour emergency shelter. Furthermore, individuals who are receiving out-of-shelter case management will be able to obtain emergency food boxes.
Shelter Services Include:
24/7 access to WAVI’s 56-bed emergency safe shelter for adults and children
24-hour crisis line staffed by trained advocates
Emergency room response and accompaniment for survivors of assault
Comprehensive case management, including:
Safety planning and assistance in obtaining personal legal documents,
such as replacement birth certificates, IDs, and social security cards
Housing navigation and shelter exit planning
Employment and education referrals
Benefits assistance
Legal and court advocacy, including protection orders and court accompaniment
Individualized, in-shelter therapy with a licensed therapist
Weekly in-shelter survivor support groups
Survivor-focused jail-based support groups
Rural and tribal outreach, including on-site advocacy on the Pine Ridge Reservation in partnership with Peaceful Means.
