Support Us

We Can Heal and Transform our Community Together

Each year, thousands of people come to Working Against Violence, Inc. (WAVI) seeking shelter, support, and the means to give themselves and their children a life free from violence. They are our mothers, fathers, our sisters, our brothers, coworkers, and friends. Their journeys are never the same, and they are never easy. But one thing never changes: each person who has the courage to seek help still needs hope.

Your gift today WILL change a life FOREVER.
$25 - Provides a fresh set of clothing to a sexual assault victim when they leave the Emergency Room.
$50 - Teaches 50 teens about healthy relationships, and what to do if they or someone they know is hurt or abused.
$75 - Creates a week of nutritious breakfasts for children in shelter, so they can focus in school.
$100 - Gives a night without violence in WAVI’s shelter for a family of four.
$250 - Guides six individuals through the court process to obtain a legal protection order from their abuser, while providing advocacy and support.
$500 - Prints 300 Survivor’s Handbooks, given to every WAVI client with resources on the dynamics of violence & rape, safety planning, and helping a child cope.
$1000 - Ensures that an advocate will answer our crisis hotlines 24 hours a day for four days.

Right now, someone is walking through the door at WAVI. You can ensure that help is always there, 24 hours a day. Together, we can break the cycle of violence.

There are several ways you can support WAVI:

All contributions are welcome and greatly appreciated. Every gift is used to further our vision of empowerment and safety to women, men and children struggling to break free of the cycle of violence. All gifts to WAVI are tax deductible, and you will receive a thank you letter to document your gift for tax purposes.

Planned Giving

A simple way to leave a planned gift to WAVI is to make a bequest in your will or living trust. With a charitable request to WAVI, you can provide WAVI with important long-term support for general operations. Your estate will receive a charitable estate tax deduction for the full value of the donation, so your estate will not pay estate tax on these assets.
